The market for kits may not be there long term like it is currently. This could turn out to be a seasonal virus, herd immunity will eventually kick in and there will be a tremendous amount of competition. I think there will always be a market though, and if a product is developed that provides quick accurate results they will always have an advantage. I am skeptical of do it at home kits like diabetes or home pregnancy as this is an infectious disease, but it is a novel idea. If the vast majority of people become immune to this that business model could have a future although the market will be much less than today.
