To compare those 2 drugs ...
Long acting , once a month , IM injection.. with Leronlimab..
The once a month IM injection ...
Need to be given by healthcare provider , it is IM..
2 drugs included...
--Cabotegravil
-Rilpivirine
Some very serious side effects,,
--Warning not to use with Hepatitis B and C..
Produce severe liver damage.
--common cold , diarrhea , headache..
--Very painful 2 IM injections every month , about 1 % of patients withdrew because of severity of pain..
all together about 3% withdrew because of severe side effects
--Depression, suicidal thoughts
--significant weight gain,
--possibilities of birth defects ,
--Not recommended for 12 and under.
--Not given with resistant HIV..
--may develop resistance .
--possible kidney damage.
--possible liver damage.
--possible allergic reaction..
--Interaction with very many medication , with some severe..
--also other problems...
XXXXX--VERY important , if side effects appears they also LONG ACTING !!!!!
Leronlimab...
-- Once a week self administer SC injection.
-- So far not one serious side effect.
--Don't produce resistance ..
--Can be use in drug resistant R5 + HIV patients..
--Many HIV positive patients develop fatty liver -NASH , sometimes aggravated /produced by HAART ,possibly Leronlimab may prevent or improve that.
-- HIV positive patients developing more often malignancy.. Leronlimab most probably can prevent , at least some.
Lets just educate doctors and patients , not to difficult choice , IMO...
