I saw many patients on plaquenil for lupus , using it for some years ,I had many patients with lupus in my office.

Never saw any of this side effects , yes it may happen but not often..
And every few months patients need eye exam..

With COVID-19 ....1-2 weeks treatment probably the most common will be some GI disturbances and we need to remember about photosensitivity ....

I find this medicine generally quite safe in most of patients ...
