Nope, it is not a play on words.
When the 1:4 dividend was paid out, I have not received any notice from my brokerage firm that there was a dividend to be paid. So I never received a statement from them nor ANY TYPE of placeholder whatsoever (this does not seem to be too uncommon here in Germany, only a very few have received some sort of placeholder). Related to the most recent 2:5 I have received a letter from the brokerage firm that announced a 2:5 dividend for GNBT shares, no mention whatsoever about the NGIO part of the dividend.
In both cases, ie. the 1:4 a year ago and recently related to the 2:5, I have called the broker and specifically asked for the dividend. First they hadn't heard about the dividend at all, on Wednesday after the pay date, but during the next day, I received the 40% extra GNBT shares into my account. Asking about NGIO, they never heard of it and - as stated in the previous message - they promised to investigate, and a couple of days later wrote me an email telling me that there was no mention about it officially. I then sent them links to related PRs from GNBT and they replied that such information has no value for them. The type of information they need to receive is from the official resource (I guess they meant the trading agent). Besides, they said as long as they do not receive shares, they have nothing that they can actually re-distribute to me. After having exchange many messages back and forth with them, I have decided to leave it until NGIO will finally be publically traded, and if at that time I have still not received anything that looks like NGIO shares, I will be stepping on the broker's toes again, until they have delivered to me what I deserve to receive.
