I agree that as rare as late-breaker presentations are at CROI (based on Seeking Alpha article that said this was the first one granted since the Timothy Brown HIV cure presentation) that this will be a well attended presentation, even virtually. But regardless, whatever level on interest/excitement, etc. this stirs up, IMO the impact will be lessened simply given the virtual environment. The irony in this is that COVID-19 may dampen the CROI impact, but potentially be offset by P2 coronavirus IND PR, test results, or license deal for coronavirus.
The CROI website also signifies their importance:
I would think even though the conference is now virtual, that these 'vitally important' presentations will be well attended. We will know in a couple of days the level of impact this has on the share price and possibly some additional interest from the scientific community.
Maybe by AACR next month they can issue syringes of leronlimab to registered participants and avoid having to do a virtual conference?
