I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt this virtual conference will be opened up to the public. I’m guessing there will still be a registration/login requirement to verify paid attendees.
While I understand the reason and justification for the change, I believe this will not have a more positive impact. If for no other reason, have you ever learned more from a virtual environment than from actually being present? I haven’t. There are many distractions, technical difficulties, lack of ability to social network and communicate with those others in the field....that may only see each other at this event annually.....social hours / bar talk after presentations, etc. I hope I’m wrong, but outside of coronavirus safety, I see no positive benefits from a virtual CROI conference.
