My hunch, and this is only my opinion, is there are millions of positive Corona cases worldwide and the majority are mild or asymptomatic. This is based on the randomness of the positive cases that are being documented worlwide. If this ends up being confirmed, there will be no way to contain the virus since the vast majority of positives will never get tested. We would have to mandate testing the entire population and closing the borders and air travel. Then testing 330 million people and potentially, quarantining millions--not sure if this is even possible. Also, maybe there are multiple strains?
The only long-term solution like the flu may be to treat the sickest cases with a drug that speeds recovery and vaccinate if pissible. Also practicing good hygiene. With SARS, morbidity and mortality seemed much higher which helped with containment. The best example is Ebola which really didn't get far as everyone got very sick and most that did did not survive.
