It’s a number comparison based on fatality rate from the infections. The flu kills about 0.1% of those infected, a majority who are elderly. The coronavirus has been near 3% killed of those infected.

I don’t know about you, but I prefer the odds of dying from the flu over that of coronavirus. I’d rather think of my 4 year old getting the flu.
