Already covered in a number of my previous briefs.
The USN increased contract requirements for "probe and drogue" cannot be met by Omega alone.
The USAF provides part of the USN requirement also with dual method tankers.
The USAF also has its own requirement for "probe and drogue" - both for its own aircraft and other NATO partners - particularly in Europe.
Anything that can be done to alleviate the USAF shortfalls now apparent due to multiple screw ups during the 8-year Obama Administration (KC-45 cancelled - KC-46 ordered - insufficient maintenance budget for KC-10 + KC-135) are likely to be done.
The MAC contract covers USN/USMC + trials + NATO partners in USA on exercise - part replacing what would otherwise be done by USAF aircraft.
The larger / later US TRANSCOM review is looking at contractorization of a portion of the USAF requirement - of which 30% is "probe and drogue".
