Was it ever specifically stated that the signing ceremony was on Wednesday (there)? I don't remember seeing an itinerary, but I might have missed it.
Regarding the PR campaign on the national news, remember GNBT is still a small OTC. IIRC, CNBC will not air stories about small OTC companies because of the volatility that it could potentially cause. I do not know if the major networks have the same criteria, but if we don't see anything, it may just be network criteria, not a bad PR firm (or person).
