First I would like to say that the last 23 or so messages have been the most interesting and illuminating comments I have read in some time. Just expressing appreciation for the many recent rational musings by board members.
Regarding gestalt2's interesting response to my post, I think my original concern was not so limited to a buyout, per-see -- but was also inclusive of a seeming lack of any apparent interest in terms of investment or partnership by BP.
Several of the last 23 posts have raised interesting points that might help to explain that investment/partnership absence. However, I remain deeply concerned that V was the only company willing to step up to the plate.
Although the concern raised in my post was not limited to a BO, I suspect many on this board would prefer that outcome -- as opposed to misgivings they may or may not have relating to the current management and the BoD.
