Well, think about the leverage.
China has probably a dozen outside companies plus some Chinese companies who are saying, "I can fix it". They have the world's 2nd biggest economy, and Xi and his folks can do whatever they think is best, no questions asked.
On the other hand, they can see that GNBT is a struggling little company that can barely pay its bills. They know we can't refuse any deal they put forward, so they torqued us.
Any way the $s turn out if this is successful, it will be a quantum leap for GNBT/NGIO... both from a financial perspective and exposure-wise.
