Heard one of the coronavirus doctors who is actually treating patients discussing on the radio about the how the illness progresses.
It appears that it is not cytokine storm per se that is killing people. (The 1918 flu epidemic killed mostly younger people with strong immune systems -- the immune system overreaction is ultimately what killed them.)
Instead, this virus kills people with lung and other organ inflammation and secondary bacterial infections. It hits people with WEAK immune systems much harder -- for instance, older people, people with autoimmune diseases, and those undergoing chemotherapy/radiation.
THIS might be why all of a sudden the government wants Brilacidin to test.
Whether or not it kills the virus, if IV Brilacidin can tame the inflammation -- and incidentally some of the bacterial secondary infections -- it would be great news for the world, and (less importantly) for IPIX shareholders.
