Unbelievable. After many decades and billions of wasted dollars on what is so obviously a failed thesis -- the amyloid theory -- most of these researchers are STILL claiming that it's the right target, we just haven't found the right drug.

I guess when you've spent your whole career claiming one thing, it's hard to say "We were wrong."

It sickens me to think that we'd have had better treatments for dementia if the controllers of research money had been willing to fund research in alternative-target therapies, instead of ridiculing them and forcing those researchers into other types of research instead (through lack of funding).
