$TMPS already has the Tristar fleet that can contribute to the 30% of the US TRANSCOM task that is "hose-and-drogue".
The USAF is certain to divest the KC-10s first (as many KC-135s are being upgraded to last through to 2050) - 16 planned in FY21 - and they might even effectively give them away as part of any deal with individual contractors as it is the USAF manpower / spares / support infrastructure operating costs that needs to be cut to support other major priorities in their plans such as the new B-21 Raider stealth bomber fleet.
So if $TMPS managed to get some of these, they could then support both the US TRANSCOM 70% "flying boom" and 30% "hose-and-drogue" mission.
This is over and above the USN / USMC 100% "hose-and-drogue" mission that the USN 2020 MAC is for.
By comparison, Omega currently only has 3 x KDC-10 (converted civilian aircraft) - the original + the 2 ex-RNethAF examples bought 4Q 2019 - similar but not as good as the USAF KC-10.
The military contracted out AAR business sector is going to get very interesting over the years ahead.
