Wow, the call in procedure is insane! I have been adding only occasionally since we went to call ins on etrade, so it's only been a few times I've had to do it.
Yesterday I called in an order and the procedure has gotten much more involved than the last time I did that. First, he verified my account like they always do on a new call....couple of questions, email, last 4 of social, user name and done. Normally that would be all they need to place an order.
When I told him the order was for UNVC though, he informed me that he needed to perform extra verification, and that the assistance fee would be waived....almost like he was reading a prepared statement from a prompt. He then proceeded to ask me for every bit of identifying information that is connected to my account. Full name including middle initial, address, last 4 of social, email, username, account value, etc. There was probably more but I forget what. Then he put me on hold.
When he came back he asked me about the order. As I was telling him the particulars, he kept reading it back to me and asking me if that was correct. Then when I was done, he read the whole order back to me, asked me if it was correct again....then he put me on hold again, came back after about 1/2 minute, read me back the order again, and finally placed the order.
This procedure is beyond ridiculous.
