It would be hard to see how he could screw us, other than not having the money to receive the put shares. That would impact availability of funds, but I doubt the shares would be transferred without receipt of funds.
Of course, he can dump the shares immediately on the market when he receives them. But that wouldn't help his ability to take advantage of the next round.
