There may be chemotherapy drugs for colon cancer that can be delivered directly to the gut with BDD's pill technology.
There are also drugs that do get absorbed systemically in the gut -- that's why you take lots of drugs via pill, it's not just in the stomach where absorption happens. This is exactly WHY IPIX/BDD did the blood tests, to see if there were significant levels of Brilacidin in the blood stream.
And, there are drugs that can't be taken by pill now, because stomach acid destroys them, but if they could make it to the gut, where there is not that level of hydrochloric acid that there is in the stomach, the drug would get absorbed in the gut. Having a pill that makes it through the stomach and THEN delivers its payload would potentially make some drugs deliverable easily by pill instead of injection or IV.
