Brilacidin is not for IBS, inflammatory bowel syndrome. We're looking at ulcerative colitis, ulcerative proctitis, and Crohn's disease, which are colloquially (and professionally sometimes) referred to as IBD, inflammatory bowel DISEASE. Confusing the two very similar abbreviations is common -- apparently there was an article in the NEJM that did the same thing, used IBS and IBD interchangeably.
