The whole basis and reason QD in the unigue optical identifier "tag" is different from something like a QR Code is that the process is not related to an algorithm and cryptography. The process results in an optical signature, which is one of many billions, and it is this which is then, in following steps, "serialized and associated" with a cryptographic hash Identifier. It does not become a cryptographic number, it remains what it is.
