The colon includes all of the large intestine and rectum. UC is at the start of the large intestine and UPS the end of it. Brilacidin for UPS is delivered via the anus with AS developing a gel/foam so as to keep Brilacidin on the inflamed tissues longer while UC is to be treated via a time delayed pill that just completed a P1 to check for safety and to make sure the Brilacidin was being delivered to the tissues at the start of the large intestine. Gamma scintigraphy was used to provide visual certification of where the B was being delivered in the colon and results should have been gathered almost immediately. That is why the results should take so short a time. IMO the only delay would be to take some time to get final pharmacokinetic results (how the drug moves thru the body checking for systemic absorption).

Thus, a colonic delivery just means delivering the drug to the large intestine and can be done from either end as shown by UC/UPS delivery methods.
