Let's get this straight, since the disturbed basher posted a lie that some may have seen.
The initial ULCERATIVE PROCTITIS ("UP" ) clinical trial administered a small amount of Brilacidin via enema. This is the clinical trial that had a spectacular success, and we have dramatic photographic before-and-after evidence of the success.
THIS clinical trial is for a "time-release" version of the drug, intended to make it through the stomach without dissolving, and then releasing the Brilacidin into the intestinal tract, to attempt treatment of ulcerative COLITIS, which is further up the intestinal tract than what an enema can reach.
It is entirely possible that BOTH forms of the drug could be submitted for approval. If someone has only Ulcerative Proctitis, why not treat it topically, with the enema method? And if someone has problems beyond what can be treated via enema, then the pill form is the way to go.
