OT a bit, but not really....
Tony Iommi, guitarist from Black Sabbath, who some would say helped develop a whole genre of music, had an industrial accident and lost the tips of two fingers. Pretty cool story...

Also, Django Reinhardt, only had two complete fingers on his left hand, who was an inspiration to Tony Iommi.
