Biogen investing in drug that may treat some of the SYMPTOMS of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's -- the sleep disturbances that may contribute to worsening of each, and which makes care of Alz patients so difficult in the later stages. The "sundowning," in which Alz patients become active during the night, is very difficult for caregivers. Although this doesn't treat the (unknown) cause of Alz, this may represent a big help in treatment.

It's too bad that Biogen is continuing to spend big money on yet another anti-amyloid drug, instead of more things like this, that actually have a chance of making things somewhat better for the patients and the caregivers.
