I think I've realized the reason, re: Upgrade vs Add-On
I also think that when a really large company is upgrading an existing platform with millions of users, they might want to put a press release out on that.
Seems like the fastest way to let customers, and investors know what's new.
Perhaps something like this?

Did you know that 91 companies out of the Fortune 100 are using Microsoft Teams, as of July 2019? I didn't.
