In 1950 when I was a kid in NY west of Buffalo right on lake Erie our town was small but iit had a German, Italian, polish section to say the least but I guess there was a black section too but never thought anything about that. In 1954 we would go to the record hops. The guy playing the records was also the dis jockey of our radio station. WBUZ. I would dance with his twin daughters and recall sharing my crappy peanut butter sandwiches in school with them and who ever would trade sandwiches and goodies. None of these people in all walks of life ever messed with me nor did I screw with them. I forget what the dis jockeys name was but my Mom would take me visiting and when we got to eat over at their house I thought that was cool but the food was a bit strange to me and I would comment but the father of the girls would laugh and just say pick around at the different things on your plate and just try it. Anyways not a big deal but they were black and ate what I thought was strange foods back then but if "I don't like it then don't eat it". I would go to the radio station right next to him in the studio while he was playing and starting records.

Moral of the story kids don't get contaminated until their parents force them into their own beliefs.
