I'm an independent but i know enough about history to know that Republicans opposed SS and Medicare and became the party of white supremacists, nativists and bigots of all stripes. Look it up.

Also, the Great Depression, the Great Recession, and most of the wee recessions, were bequeathed from Republican administrations to Dem Administrations.
