good analogy, however the value of oil is easy to determine. Imagine if a couple years ago we sold this based on it being a combo hiv drug only, that would really burn hearing each new indication popping up.
Truth is, as crazy as this SP is, very little is typical with this. How many drugs in trials for one indication are found to have multiple other indications, and these indications are much larger market size than the original market? I know this is widely known here, but how many drugs of any kind have zero side effects? Aspirin does not have zero side effects!
Lets not forget, once this drug is approved and on sale, assuming a 50% royalty partner deal does get made, the 50% royalty of the 70% of the 1.8 million us HIV market will be generating $80 million a month. I am assuming a $70k/yr cost and 50% market penetration, just for fun. This means in 3 months, the entire cost for the 8 years to develop this will be paid for.
