If I remember correctly CXCR4 does not exhibit in the mucosal lining which is why CCR5 HIV is the only sexual transmittal vector.

The HIV CXCR4 mutation almost exclusively occurs as a workaround to current HIV drug regimen. I believe there were some very rare cases of CXCR4 HIV occurring naturally in Africa.
