This would seem to indicate that he doesn't plan to do any type of hostile takeover with the number of shares he had.

I don't know if we can just discount the selling since he would have had more insider info than us. However it is possible he wanted to get back at NP and stage a shareholder lynch mob by flooding the market with more shares than it can handle at the moment driving the price down.

Also a more likely scenario, he could just be selling cuz he wants to with no ill will or intentions. Maybe just diversifying his portfolio from being too heavily weighted in one stock. Smart move there.
