hoops, the importance of the dividend was because the non restricted holders only were going to get the dividend. Therefore, even though the stock would have been cut in half (though we all know it shouldn't), you would own a larger % of the company now. Yes you have twice the shares at half the price, so initially it seems like the same, however the % of the company you own has actually increased and you will benefit from that in time, especially on the nasdaq.

What is the big deal regarding the "dividend"? Given what we experienced with the last dividend, FINRA will merely treat it as a forward split. Why would anyone want 200 shares at .35 instead of 100 shares at .70? I see no premium in this "dividend".
