That is coincidental about what you said about the Turkey chain smoking. My neighbor is going to smoke two birds, a 20 lb that he want to brine with his own receipt and the 15 lb brined I bought at Trader Joe's yesterday. I do recall my Dad in 1954 bringing a live Turkey into the inside porch area and of course I probably ask where did the big bird go not realizing it was toast! Also he would bring home Pike from Lake Erie as we lived 3 miles from the lake. At any rate enjoy each day as if it is special simply because it is.
