In the case of allogeneic stem cell transplants and the use of leronlimab there is a very high chance it will cure HIV. With an allogeneic transplant for cancer the foreign bone marrow stem cells production of t-cells usually not only attack the tumor cells but also attack the patient's own cells which is what GVHD is. The HIV reservoir cells get killed off too. Leronlimab will limit the progression of GVHD and stop the circulating HIV from binding to the CCR5 receptor.
