I tend to disagree with this statement. Big Pharma can wait. Yes the rumblings of miniscule successes are there, but nothing concrete. Mostly animal results except for 1 mtnbc humam patient and HIV which has the most convincing human data.
The stock is still cheap so BP can wait for more evidence to derisk their investment. I don't mind the risk, but I also don't have thousands of shareholders scrutinizing my every acquisition like a big pharma and it's BOD.
Besides, the longer they wait and if all the science proves out, the price will be higher than if they want in now.
I know it's not the case for many here but I need the buyout to happen after February of 2020 to avoid short term capital gains tax ... strictly selfish reasons :o)
