While the drop in share price is disconcerting, one should look at what is going on because the jig may soon be up. They lost, and they now are beginning to see it. I know many of these people work with or for market makers who actually fund the games that are played (the player does not lose anything unless he/she buys and sells for themselves). Market makers do not pay transaction costs (many of us no longer do either), and they can borrow the shares they short as a way of doing business --- perfectly legal for a market maker.
I suspect we will have news before Thanksgiving, and how thankful we all shall be when that day comes. Lets just hope we are not waiting for Dems to pass laws --- they obviously cannot walk and chew gum at the same time. Our saving grace may turn out to be Mitch McConnell who passed the Farm Bill last year during the last two weeks of the year when only a majority is needed to pass laws. Ironic isn't it? Our hope in the mid-term election was that Dems would get laws passed, that many were waiting for. Now our saving grace may be the Reps. Ironic indeed.
