Leronlimab and graft vs cancer effect
When an allogeneic stem cell transplant takes place the donor cells will attack the host cells including all types of cancer cells even cancer stem cells because of the graft vs cancer effect. Cancer stem cells are responsible for tumor growth and metastasis. The downside of the transplant being GVHD. Which is why you don't see it used to often outside of blood cancers.
If leronlimab provides an extremely high level of efficacy in GVHD, leronlimab could be used to not only mediate the effects of GVHD, but would also help fight the cancer. There is a chance this could be a cure for cancer with no remission in some cases.
