That being said, if this board was the parents of a child, that child would never grow up knowing accountability and could always shrug things off saying "I'll do better next time" while knowing there are ZERO consequences and he can keep getting dessert and playing with his friends any time he wants to.

How do we know the deal is not dead? We don't! NP has been mostly silent and has failed time and time again. Voicing frustration and wanting to hold him accountable is how things work. You are not held accountable at your job if you tell your boss you will have something on his desk at 4pm and then you never deliver it? You. Would. Be. Fired. We all would.
