I personally think Morgan Freeman should play Doc. More aligned with age and he's an awesome actor, one of my top 5 for sure.
He also is very big into cannabis for medical reasons I believe and would probably love what Doc is doing with hemp/cannabis for medical field. That passion of his would definitely help him portray Doc very well.
Denzel is amazing actor as well.
