Once again Ace, 8/17 is an important and relevant date to SFOR because that is when Bo Dietl showed DoD Contractors SFOR had the right stuff defensive software wise. First off he would not have even in the room without DISA approval of SFOR's KTLS protection. Second, this was a try before buy simulated cyber attack exercise. Third, the normal DoD procurement cycle for new, untested items is two years. Fourth, that timeframes was considerably delayed by: CRs, no Federal budget until 9/30 due to DC gridlock, the longest shutdown in US history.
