Author’s reply » New calculation post split. Share price should decline by 25 million divided by 69 million (25 million + 44 million), or 36%. Or to rephrase, shares should be worth 64% of prior price, but now you have two of them. Should be a gain of 28%.
Of course, we should have seen a very large gain approaching 47% when 20+ million shares were retired to treasury. Market makers completely ignored it.
