Obama got what was gettable. He wanted a public option to stand alongside the continued insurance carrier provided healthcare. A Medicare for some, I guess. He never argued for a VA style gubmint health care system, for obvious reasons.
Here's the upshot. More people want universal health care than ever before. The floor is now pre-existing conditions coverage and no caps on lifetime coverage.
And the debate is on the table for Medicare for all or, more likely, Medicare if you want it. Also, DO employers want to continue with the cost disadvantages that providing health insurance saddles them with VS foreign competitors?
We're still waiting for Trump's better and cheaper health care Bill.
