You found the patent. Sound Concepts had at least two more applications one of which was a follow on to that patent.
VERB application that was filed around Dec of last year likely won't show up until May do to the 18 month rule. There are exceptions to that rule, but I would look for it some time in Q2, although you never know when it will pop up.
What Sound Concept has filed would block anyone from doing something similar or they could work out some sort of royalty
For those that don't remember the VERB application PR, I've pasted it below. Not sure how anyone else would do interactive videos within social media if this gets approved, but it will be interesting reading it next year.
