What you (we) are experiencing are either turkeys or peacocks fanning their tails and strutting around seeking attention. Don’t give them the satisfaction by giving them the time of day. Deflate them by ignoring them. This process has worked well for me during my 30-years on submarines. Bottom line is that humans do not react well to being “shunned”.
