Bashers will always make up all kinds of garbage to try to scare investors.
But as far as the "mechanism of action needs to be understood" claim --
no one knows the mechanism of action that makes shots of gold salts work against rheumatoid arthritis, very successfully (it was the first treatment that really worked, back in the first half of the 20th century, and was found by the "let's just try everything till we find something that works" method).
And there was a paper published recently about some drugs that they thought they understood the mechanism of action, but then found that what they had postulated was completely wrong and they do NOT know why the drugs worked -- just that they DO work.
So when I hear that "mechanism of action" BS my eyes glaze over and I find that I am sneering -- because what's most important is -- does it work?
And it sure seems like AVXL is on to something big.
