The difference this time is that DECN now has Big leverage, I would call it the Platinum effect! If DECN wins, Platinum is infringing on their patent. And Platinum paid how much for purchase of Lifescan's business? I'd say at that point, the purchase amount is reduced significantly-like up to $700M...that is unless there is a settlement between Lifescan and DECN to remove the infringement, and possibly a licensing agreement between Platinum and DECN for new products. IMO, good times coming for DECN.
