The boost to pps in a share buyback usually occurs due to improved EPS/ROA/ROE. However, the shares retired in our case belonged to the "Friends of GNBT" and not the company, therefore there was no change to company financial statements. Therefore the pps should be adjusted accordingly. However, I don't think the exchanges have a process in place for our situation.
