Lots going on at the legislative hearings in Congress that started yesterday. Developments include:
The Drug Enforcement Administration proposed that 3.2 million grams of marijuana be legally grown in the U.S. in 2020—a more than 30 percent increase from this year’s quota for cannabis to be used in scientific studies, and the USDA is supporting the establishment of a Domestic Hemp Production Program. The goal is to have these rules published this fall.
The Environmental Protection Agency is being urged by the State FIFRA Issues Research and Evaluation Group to provide guidance to states on pesticide use on cannabis.
