I don’t. It must be market makers going short, since the stock is not shortable. They must have buyers and filling some orders, that’s how they go short. But those short shares might “ be eligible for the dividend. So the MM might be selling shares that might be eligible for the dividend and then they will have to come up with them on the open market. I hope they are following the news and not just doing what the normally do. Or better yet, hopefully they don’t and then have to buy 700K shares on the open market.
