I believe it is more
to the point that political policy effected many jobs in the US. Such as steel, oil, coal and mining.
These jobs and industries were shifted to China. Making the US venerable.
Things have changed under Trump. In a relatively short time. The US has gone from dependent to independent on China trade.
I think in the 60's when Nixon opened the trade barriers with China was a good idea considering 1 Billion population and market at the time. Good for business.
Problem with that is. China got our jobs and a open market to the US. China never opened it's markets to the world. Because in doing so. If they had, it would have toppled their political system.
Now they are kind of between a rock and a hard place as there is zero or no inflationary process trading with a now more development world market.
US gets the Venezuela political issues solved. Middle east oil becomes a moot point.
