I agree with your reply. And, as embarrassing as this is to admit, if I knew how to do a thumbs up, I would.
Speculative can mean many different things when investing in stocks. Some would say any stock investment is speculative since there is more inherent risk (at least in terms of principal loss) than putting one's money in a bank. In terms of my post, I used the term speculative to mean any company/investment that is not yet profitable. I realize there have been and continue to be many companies with market caps well in the billions, that I would continue to view as speculative.
